Elementary Program

For Children Grades 1st - 5th

2025-2026 School Year

Our Religious Education Program combines home study with once a month meetings at the parish on Mondays.

Cultivating the Virtues Study
Cultivating the Virtues guides children through 28 virtues, each explored in a four-part unit that combines knowledge, action, and prayer:

Learn – direct teaching on the virtue
Live – a story illustrating the virtue
Witness – a highlight of a saint who embodied the virtue
Pray – guided prayer with Scripture

First Confession/Communion Home Study Program
The New St. Joseph First Communion Catechism will supply young Catholics with vital information needed to make their First Holy Communion and First Confession. It explains Catholic Doctrine using pictures and Sacred Scripture. Parents and students work on the book together at home. Activity pages for each lesson and an answer key are provided, Additional help is available by contacting the DRE Katie Jean.

2025-26 Elementary Program Registration

Registration is $35 per child with a maximum of $105 per family. Contact Katie Jean (below) with any questions.
All children preparing for a sacrament through the home study course, are also invited to co-currently enroll in either the
Elementary or Middle School programs offered to benefit fully from our Religious Education!

Even if a child won’t be in any of our Religious Education programs (is being prepared at a Catholic School) everyone receiving a sacrament in the Spring of 2026 needs to be registered for the sacraments by the start of the school year so we can engage them in our interview process. If you have questions, please contact our DRE Katie Jean at katie@sptatricka2.org

Registration for 2026-27 Religious Education will open Summer 2026
