"The whole liturgical life of the Church revoles around the Eucharistic sacrifice and the sacraments." Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1113
The Catholic Church professes seven sacraments that were established by Christ to perpetuate for all people the salvific ministry of Christ upon earth. The Sacraments are: Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist (Sacraments of Initiation); Confession and Anointing of the Sick (Sacraments of Healing); Holy Orders and Matrimony (Sacraments at the Service of Communion).
While Christ was on earth, he visibly ministered to and healed people. Since the time of of the Apostles, this saving work of Christ has been continued in the Church through the power of the sacraments that continue to bestow the grace and healing of Christ to people of every age.
