“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them become one body.” -Genesis 2:24

We are pleased you wish to celebrate your wedding at Old St. Patrick. In celebrating your marriage, you are asking the Church to be a witness to your pledge of enduring love. 

Please know of our prayers and support as you prepare for this holy sacrament of a life-long commitment. 

The following is an overview of the marriage preparation process which includes:

  • Contact the parish office to schedule a meeting with the pastor,
    Fr. Tom Wasilewski

  • at least 9 months of preparation as required by the Diocese of Lansing.

  • Several marriage preparation meetings with our Marriage Prep couple: 
    Mr. and Mrs Hiester. The Hiesters will lead you through completing and discussing the Fully Engaged book used for Marriage Prep 

  • Meeting with the Wedding Coordinator, Mrs. Beth Ganss, to discuss the liturgical aspects of the wedding ceremony and establish the rehearsal time.

  • Contact our organist, John Perna to prepare and approve wedding music.  

  • Attending Natural Family Planning sessions.

  • Attending We C.A.R.E. communication sessions.

  • Highly recommended: Attending Engaged Encounter Weekend.
